If it has been a while since your last workout, you are not alone. However, there is no better time than now, so let’s get ready. This new DVD by Patricia Friberg Power Pink has a great well rounded workout that also has a very good purpose.
The DVD is divided into three sections: cardio, toning floor workout, and stretch & revive. It also includes a bonus breast cancer survivors exercise, but let’s start at the beginning.
As expected it starts with a few minute gentle stretches. We all know how important it is to do proper warm up, but do we always do it right? After the warm up the program transitions into a Cardio workout. The only things you need to use are a resistance band and 20 minutes of time to complete Cardio Interval Balance Challenge. And there are modified versions of the same exercises to follow for those of us not as challenge ready.
Many movements seem incredibly simple yet they are quite effective and made my gluts scream for help and my muscles beg for mercy. I have to admit I haven’t done many workouts recently and since kids are no longer toddlers (I used to carry them everywhere), I am not as strong as I was even a year ago (who wants to carry around 30 and 40 “babies”). 10 minutes later and I am still kicking and just feeling calories drowning in my sweat.
I wasn’t sure if I had it in me to do the second section at my first workout, so I found a perfect excuse to stop – toning floor work series requires a small ball and a mat for soft surface. However, if you have what it takes, plan ahead and get a ball prior to the workout.
I love the fact that this is a well rounded workout and it goes from Cardio to stretching, from gluts to abs. Just around 30 minutes, floor workout is a great workout on its own. Here I had no other choice, but stop few times – I think only my mind thinks that I am in a great physical shape, but the body has to disagree. I was just happy for modified versions of the exercises, but even so I still had to stop for a minute or two.
To those of you who get intimidated by ladies showing workout moves and making it look so easy – I so hear you, but I bet they didn’t know what they were doing the first time either. With so many of us obese and not in a good physical shape, you might not be able to make it through the whole workout at once. It is a challenge, and that’s what Patricia Friberg repeats several times during the program – these movements may look challenging, but here is my challenge for you – make it to the end of the DVD. Start and go as long as you can. Even if the best you can do is 10 (or even 5 minutes), don’t just give up on it – do what you can and repeat it again tomorrow, but add another minute or two to your workout. You could of watched another TV show right now, but you decided to change something in your life and took a baby step toward a healthier you. Whatever you can do – you are still ahead of the lazy version of yourself by that much.
Stretch and revive is a great way to stretch and probably could be a great wake up stretch if you have 10 minutes in the morning. Some day I really would like to try that. It’s designed to reduce stress and relax muscles.
Special Bonus of Power Pink is a special workout for breast cancer survivors. It is designed to help regain mobility and strength in affected areas like arms, shoulders, chest, and abdomen. It is only 10 minutes and seems like a great physical therapy for those who try to get rebuilding their muscles.
I also have to mention that by buying this DVD you a contributing to breast cancer research and hopefully getting all of us closer do the cure. Check it out on Amazon
