Recently in the interview Mila Kunis mentioned her mom’s surprise over disposable diapers: “Well, if I had this, I would just have seven babies. This is amazing!” I bet you will want to have more babies when you see all these gadgets
Kiinde
Kiinde Breastfeeding Set is simple, yet very practical system. Pump into the pouch you can freeze (it uses adapters for compatibility with any pump), that can later be thawed and warmed up using the warmer. When ready for consumption, just put a plastic casing and a nipple around it. ,used for feeding with a nipple. No transferring from a bag to a bottle and it also reduces colic. The only downside is the fact that the pouches are disposable and they cost more than pumping bag or plastic inserts for Playtex drop-in bottles, but you have to agree – it is a cost of convenience.
Infant Pacifier Thermometer
This sure beats trying to take a temperature from a wiggling infant and let’s pretend the rectal thermometer was never invented. This Summer Infant Pacifier Thermometer is also relatively inexpensive (under $10) and the reviews are great. Fever Alert glow feature indicates fever and beeps when readings are complete. Memory feature recalls last reading to help monitor child’s progress.
Milkscreen Alcohol Test Strips for Breastmilk
Ever wondered how much you can drink and avoid dumping your breast milk? Wonder no more! Milkscreen is a home test to Detect Alcohol in Breast Milk 5 Pack – a sobriety test for your milk. Manufactured by UpSpring, MilkScreen is 99% accurate and very easy to use.
RaZbaby Keep-It-Kleen Pacifier
Closes when Dropped! The Keep-It-Kleen pacifier is not only genius, but stylish, comfortable and ultra functional. The closing shields are attached to the pacifier — no more lost pacifier covers!
RaZbaby Keep-It-Kleen Pacifier doesn’t look like a game changer, but do you prefer sticking a dirty binky in your mouth before handing it to your baby on a playground?
Glo, Color-changing Nightlight with Portable Glowing Balls
Glo nightlight with rechargeable portable balls make bedtime fun. The balls are removable in case you need to find your slippers in the dark or trying to find something. Alien look aside, this is a pretty cool idea, especially if need to crawl under the crib to find a pacifier at 2 am.
Iiamo Self-warming Bottle
Iiamo Go Self Warming Baby Bottle is the self-warming feeding bottle made in Denmark. The first feeding bottle in the World that warm milk up to the recommended 37C. I can see it being very useful on the go. I definitely like the concept, since I have spent lots of time in the public bathrooms trying to warm up a bottle in a warm water. The reviews are mixed and the price starts at $30. Also, this bottle uses disposable cartridges (additional expense), but I do love the idea.
Motorola Dual Mode Baby Monitor
Any baby monitor is better than no monitor. Video monitors is the end of my dreams, but something like this is just beyond my understanding. Motorola MBP854CONNECT Dual Mode Baby Monitor with 4.3-Inch LCD Parent Monitor and Wi-Fi Internet Viewing has a two-way radio and can play music with your baby, while the color screen (or infrared in a dark) besides showing your child, also tells you the temperature in the room. Wireless 2.4 GHz FHSS technology, plus Wi-Fi Wireless Connectivity on a compatible device with the Free Hubble viewing application. The camera can be remotely controlled with tilt and zoom and video can be locally recorded. Expensive splurge? Totally, but consider that you can have more than one camera and you can watch your baby on your smart phone, while away – it might just be a smart spurge for you. (I do have this one and yes – it is totally wild!)
Smartphone Ultrasound by Mobisante
MobiUS SP1 is the world’s first smartphone mobile ultrasound device. It is a bit scary that you can do your ultrasound at home with a help of a smart phone. I am not Tom Kruse, but there were so many times I just wanted to hear my baby’s heartbeat to put my mind to ease. This little gadget is designed for small businesses, so we might be still a couple years away from doing ultrasounds at home.
Mimo Smart Baby Onsie Monitor
Connected with Mimo app, Mimo Smart Baby Monitor Starter Kit gives you insight about your baby’s sleep activity, respiration, body position, and skin temperature, keeping you notified of changes in your baby’s breathing and activity – how crazy is that? You thought you bought some expensive bodysuites for your baby? I bet no bodysuit of yours costs $200. The kit comes with 3 machine washable organic cotton kimonos, 1 low power Bluetooth transmitter, and 1 wifi and charging base station. Live video and real-time data get sent to your smartphone or tablet. I honestly can’t even compare it to anything else – it is pretty amazing and, obviously, not cheap.
Bellabeat – Naturally Smart Shell
Bellabeat Shell is just that – a shell. It hears your baby during pregnancy and shares his heartbeat by sending it to your smartphone. If you find yourself bored of listening to their beating rhythm, you can reverse the sensor to play music instead either from your phone, or songs, music, and noises you’ve recorded yourself. Seriously, how can something that looks so simple to be such a complicated technology? I am speechless.
Baby Room Temperature Monitor
The Gro Company Gro-Egg is a fancy night light, that costs about as much as a night light, but it also monitors baby’s room temperature, glowing yellow, red or blue according to the environment, with a digital temperature display. I’d say it is simple and functional.
Sound Machine
This ultra-portable sleep sound machine has a variety of sounds and songs pre-programmed, so that she can get a good night (or nap!) of shut-eye anytime – 12 sounds, compatible with MP3 player, timer option plus a night light – this sure beats singing Rock-a-bye Baby for for the forty-seventh time.
Digital Soother
Gentle soothing meets high tech — and they come together to help baby relax, be entertained, learn about your family, and enjoy hours of music! Really Digital? I wanted to talk about moving mobiles, but apparently this is the new generation. This Digital Soother comes with 3 soothing apps (Northern Lights, Aquarium Wonders and Counting Sheep), 3 active apps (Peek a boo Rainforest, High Contrast Imagery and Personalized family photos) as well as a Night Light with 4 settings (lantern, fireflies, colored light or traditional night light) plus it also has a database of 50 songs. I really hope this toy comes with a step by step instruction for the parents, who are not up to speed with the technology.
Amazon Prime Membership
I wish I had Amazon Prime 5 years ago as it is the best thing ever! How bad was it going to the store with an infant and a toddler? I still have nightmares about it. Today I don’t go to the store – I order! 2 day shipping, competitive prices and other extra perks that are only available to the prime members (videos, music, books, cloud storage, etc)
Formula Maker by Diluo
Diluo is a Swedish innovation that could just be your new best friend. The infant formula is ready to serve in no time, always perfectly prepared at the right temperature thanks to innovative technology and easy smartphone control. You can control your Diluo remotely by a smartphone or make your selections directly on your dial. It’s quick and easy. Imagine, you wake up at night because the youngest member of your family is hungry for something warm. You press a button on your iPhone, walk to the kitchen and get the formula all ready to go. 5 minutes of a night’s sleep saved! It would be great to see how well it works, but since I am sleep deprived beyond believe, I will just assume that it is the best present a mom could hope for.

These are all amazing to me–none of these things were invented when my friends had children. The fever thermometer alone makes my heart skip beats–so much easier and SAFER.

I would be one of those parents who wants to have another child but physically can not. Everywhere I look: I always find something I should have bought when they were little, or wasn’t around when they were.
