I have suddenly found myself craving fruits. And how can you say no to the array of fruits that has filled our local markets? The backyard garden welcomes us every day with fresh berries and what can be better than a delicious berry picked right from the bush?

However, most of the mornings I have no time for berry picking (priorities are set to getting the family ready and getting everyone to the camp and work), but that doesn’t mean I want to give up the summer fruit.

Berry Power is what I am all about. And these delicious pictures make me crave both the smoothie and the fruit at the Kitchen Meets Girl.

This Breakfast smoothie from My Food Fitness Diaries has a lot to offer – oats, protein powder, fruits, spinach, and peanut butter and still looks exceptionally delicious.

When it comes to green drinks, I am bit suspicious, but the promise of high fiber  from this veggie smoothies at Skinny Sweets Daily seriously tempt me to adventure into drinking my spinach.

Got some frozen fruit? Check out this recipe from Jamie Oliver. It gives you the flexibility of picking the fruits and adding the other important things – yogurt, oats, nuts. Speaking of the extras, did you know that adding oats and nuts to them is great, because it helps slow down the absorption of the sugar from the fruit into your bloodstream, which gives you more energy for longer period of time?

Considering how busy I am in the morning, this recipe by my friend Pepper of Pepper Scraps is definitely one of my favorites. It seems very easy and with minimal cleanup. Pepper has a great tip: if you blend your smoothie in advance, store it in a sandwich bag and leave it in the fridge at night for the morning breakfast instead of blending the frozen package in the morning.

I like the pink and purple smoothies 🙂 I am suspicious of green ones as well! The one with peanut butter sounds interesting.

These all sound so yummy! We tried doing our own garden this year. Only managed to get 4 strawberries as then it stopped producing berries. It’s growing like crazy but no fruit. Maybe next year though!
