Best Midwest Amusement Parks

Looking for a little thrill and a whole lot of fun?  You’d be surprised how many excellent amusement parks you can find out here in the Midwest.  Whether it is screaming with your hands in the air down a roller coaster, flying down a slide at a waterpark or even taking the kids to see their favorite kid’s characters you can find almost anything that will entertain you and your family.  Here is a list of must visit amusements parks in the Midwest.Midwest Amusement Parks

Cedar Point – Sandusky, Ohio

Self-proclaimed roller coaster capital of the world, Cedar Point can boast about its 17 roller coasts that are all found in this one park along with their other 71 rides.  It is the only roller coaster park in the world that has five roller coasters that are taller than 200 feet in one area.  They also have their water park and hotel.  If you have young children, there is a ton for them to do here too in their section.  They have rides and attractions that are perfect for young kids.

Mt. Olympus Water Park – Wisconsin Dells, WI

There is so much to do here, and you can do it year round!  With a Rome theme, there is just so much to do here at this theme park that you can stay here for a whole weekend and still not do everything!  The outdoor water park is perfect for those warm summer months with tons of water slides, wave pools and a pool to lounge in.  Check out their theme park where you can catch a ton of thrills riding on their many roller coasters.  In the winter, take advantage of their indoor water park and their indoor theme park.  You can even go skiing, tubing, and snowboarding here too!

Indiana Beach – Monticello, Indiana

Looking for an old town carnival-feel amusement park?  Indian Beach is the place to be!  This theme park is right on the water of Lake Shafer.  This park has over 40 rides and attractions while keeping its small hometown feel to it.  At Indiana Beach, you can enjoy the day getting your thrills from their six roller coasters or have a relaxing time floating down the river in a tube with your family and then catch some sun on their man made a beach.

Kings Island – Mason, Ohio

If you have little ones, Kings Island in Mason, Ohio is a must!  They are known for having the world’s best kid’s area.  Your kid can spend the day having a blast in their Peanuts-themed attraction park.  If thrills are more up to you and your family’s alley, you can catch them all at their soak city waterpark or ride one of their many roller coasters – especially the Banshee.  Or step back in time at their Dinosaurs Alive! Theme park.  There are more than 65 life size dinosaurs you can catch a view of.
