Cedar Point Halloweekend Fun

Sharing is caring!

My family has received free admission to this park and discounted stay at the hotel,
however, I stand by every word I say here.

When somebody calls themselves  “The best in the world,” I generally don’t buy it. Oh boy, was I wrong this time! Our family had a chance to go to Cedar Point for a weekend in September and we were not disappointed. We were lucky enough to enjoy the first weekend of Halloween celebration also known as Halloweekend with plenty of kiddie rides, shows for all ages, good food, and, of course, rides for the big kids. On top of that, it’s in a beautiful location – Cedar Point is located on a Lake Erie peninsula in Sandusky, OH and is literally just as beautiful from every angle you look, with only one road to get in and out.

My favorite part of the trip is that the park was open until midnight on Friday and Saturday, which gave me the opportunity to run off and go on big kid rides when the kids were asleep. The Cedar Point has a very comprehensive app that  helped me not get lost in this 363 acres of amusement. Make sure to check out a lot of roller coasters if you are an adrenaline junkie like myself. I conquered a Millennium Force – a Giga-coaster that goes up to 93 miles an hour, using the elevator cable lift system to get me to the top faster… not giving me time to prepare for the 80 degree drop. Weeeeeeeee.

Back to the Halloween excitement, there is a variety of haunted houses as well as outside scare zones that made me scream like a little girl. The scare zone excitement starts at 6pm, and as you walk to your next show or roller coaster, there is plenty of thrill on the way. One of my favorite scare zones was the CarnEVIL, where I was too scared to look at the exhibits in fear of being spooked.Cedar-Point-maze The kids squealed at a children friendly Haunted House – Magical House on Boo Hill. And our kids also got to trick-or-treat right in the park, with the magical creatures and kids favorite characters giving out the treats.Cedar-Point-Charlie-Brown

Tired of going on rides? Want to sit down and be entertained? You are at the perfect place! There are multiple shows going on in the park all day. We tried to make it a point to see all of them, but of course we got distracted with all the rides.

And every day there is a parade in the park with all kinds of monsters – so much fun!

With the kids we went to see Spooky Shenanigans – loud and crazy fun that goes especially well with nachos and popcorn bought at the stand. Cedar-Point-ShanenigansAnd we watched the Skeleton Crew, a cirque-style spectacle with a fire show, gymnasts, and jumping skeleton acrobats!

Did I mention that this place has more than 50 life size dinosaurs? These moving sensations of the Dinosaurs Alive! throw you way back in time, make you feel like a paleontologist at the dig site, and incredibly educational.

We all had a blast and the kids keep talking about going back! I can’t wait until next year, when they can grow a couple more inches and can go with the grownups on more rides.Cedar-Point-cars

That looks like such a blast! Halloween is one of my favorite holidays, so I’m always looking for ways to share the fun with my family. Cedar Point looks like just the way to do that.

I wish there was somewhere around us that did things like that. Sure we get corn mazes and pumpkin carnivals, but nothing that elaborate!

I must have missed you, I was at the blogger event that weekend. I LOVE Cedar Point! We are so spoiled to have it within driving distance, too (about 2 hours from my area), so that we can make a day trip out of it.

I’ve heard a lot of good things about this park. I’ve never been to Cedar Point but it sure looks like the kids (and the adults) had a really great time! I’m not one for roller coasters but I’d be all over meeting the Peanuts characters.

It looks like there’s a great range of activities at Cedar Point- I have been wanting to go to Knott’s Scary Farm, which is very similar. I think I’d really get a kick out of CarnEVIL- I just love the taboo and macabre!

I had to skip through your pictures fast because if my son saw, I would never hear the end of it! The dinosaur exhibit looks amazing, I know this would be his favorite.

Even though we don’t do halloween, the park itself looks like fun! Wish we were closer
