Good night snack – Psst, Don’t tell the Kids!

What would consider the best good night snack? Let me tell you a little secret about mine.

Just an average evening in our household. The summer is spoiling us with perfect evenings and the kids take full advantage of it running in the backyard for hours.

Cart wheel

– Hey, where are you going? ( I see my daughter sneaking back into the house)
– Mom, I want a baby cheese!
– Baby cheese? (My son follows her immediately)

The next 30 minutes, they continue sneaking into the house to get juice, PB&J sandwich, apple, more cheese, and so on. It is getting dark and I can’t wait to get the kids into the house, maybe because of the hungry mosquitoes or possibly because I am about to run out of all the snacks I have in the house. Well, at least the wolves… I mean kids are full.

– Mom, I am still hungry!
– What? Emptying my entire snack stash wasn’t enough? What else would you like?

– I want mmm…. (She looks up somewhere at the top of the fridge)… mmm Apple Jack cereal! And I don’t want milk.

What is it about kids and cereal? It seems like they are perfectly capable of eating it for breakfast, lunch, and dinner (that and mac-n-cheese). I sit down while kids attack the cereal of their choice (gotta be nice to have variety). I complain something about cereal being a morning food, but she can have it just today as an exception and only if she promises to brush her teeth and change for bed as soon as she is finished.

FINALLY there is a peace and quiet in my house. I am ready for some mom time and that usually includes TV, snacks, and my favorite couch. Of course, I do not let my kids eat in the living room, but it doesn’t mean I can’t. Here is another thing I wouldn’t want them to know – I eat breakfast food as my late night snack.

Cereal-at-Store

Seriously, what do you think is better for me at 10 pm – cookies and candies or crunchy cereal? Thanks to my entire family’s last trip to Walmart, my choices are very extensive.

CereL-AISLE

I let everyone pick a box to their liking and now I get to enjoy a big variety from our cereal box gallery

Today, I want to live large and make my own cereal mix. What a party bowl!

I love cereal for a snack after the kiddos are in bed. You had me LOLing at you eat on the couch but you don’t allow the kids, glad I’m not the only one 😉

I could eat cereal all day and night. I love it so much. We get Fruit Loops as a very special treat once in a while and I probably eat more than the kids.

I have been known to enjoy a handful of Golden Grahams as a snack. Just about perfect, crunchy with a hint of sweetness.

I always snack on cereal – and then my kids saw me and now I can’t keep enough cereal in the house. #client

Too funny, when I saw all those boxes of cereal I thought, I’d put those all together and eat them dry- and YOU did! Love it! I snack on cereal all the time, I’m a Lucky Charms kinda gal.

Yum, cereal is my favorite food. It’s a great snack because I can keep it in a baggie and take it to work if I don’t have time for breakfast at home.

Don’t tell anyone – I don’t have kids but I still buy kid’s cereal so I can sit and eat it out of the box! I think it makes the most perfect snack EVER.

Your photos say it all. Fantastic!
My husband can sit if front of the TV and down half a box of dry cereal.
I haven’t tried Krave yet, but it looks good. I’ll have to put it on my grocery list.
