This might be the perfect time to stop, reflect, and come up with a better plan of cooking healthier meals for the family. With a bit of preparation and planning, you can create meals that are not only delicious and healthy but that your family will love as well.  Whether you are a great chef in the kitchen, or you are a novice just beginning, these ideas will help bring healthier alternatives to your family’s diet.Easy and Quick dinner recipes for family - it is simple and perfect for working moms

Veggie Sandwich

While most likely a staple in your family home is peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, an excellent alternative to this is a Veggie sandwich.  You can use Swiss chard leaves or spinach leaves instead of refined carbs to hold your sandwich together.  This cuts out so many unneeded calories and tastes great too.  Take some turkey, tomato, sliced carrots and cucumbers and wrapped it all in a Swiss chard leaves.  It is delicious!

Foiled Baked Salmon

Salmon is such a great piece of fish to eat because of all of its benefits.  It has a healthy source of vitamin B12, vitamin D and selenium.  Salmon helps build children’s brains by its high levels of DHA, which is the mostly structural fatty acid in the central nervous system and retina.  It can help prevent ADHD in children and can even help boost academic performance.  An easy way to cook it is by using tin foil and placing your salmon on a row of asparagus.  Add some oregano, salt and pepper for seasoning along with onion and lemon slices on top.  Fold the foil together, so it is completely sealed and put it in a 400-degree oven for 20 minutes.

Turkey Taco Lettuce Wraps.  These taco wraps are not only pretty easy to prepare, but you, and your family will be amazed at how delicious they are.  Instead of using beef, an excellent alternative is ground turkey.  It tastes just as good, and your kids will not even be able to tell the difference.  You can add regular toppings such as cheese, avocado, salsa and beans.  Instead of using a tortilla, a healthier alternative is lettuce wraps.  Wrap it up just like a taco.  To see more, check out the recipe here.
