Yet, we don’t think this is enough and we are setting new year resolutions to eat better to look better and to improve our quality of life. Is fat your problem? Let’s talk about a few dishes that are easy, healthy, and low on fat. I have to say, there is nothing wrong with fat, when we are talking about good healthy fat.

6 Easy Healthy Low Fat Recipes

Sources of good fat:

  • Olive Oil and Olives
  • Eggs
  • Anchovies and Sardines
  • Almonds and Walnuts
  • Avocados

Sources of bad fat:

  • red meat
  • pork
  • whole fat milk
  • cheese
  • cream
  • butter
  • ice cream
  • any food that is made from hydrogenated oil

Baked Pepper Nachos dish is a great way to keep up with the healthy lifestyle. Once you start counting calories and looking at carbs, you realize chips are really hard to fit into a low calorie, low carb diet.

This Creamy Carrot & Sweet Potato Soup is a great recipe that is very diet friendly and quite delicious. It is sweet, creamy, and absolutely healthy.

Prepare for delicious smells as a chicken roasting away in your oven. Oh, my Greek chicken! This dish satisfies the appetite and best of all is a breeze to clean up after.

This soup is creamy and thick without the need for dairy. How? The author pureed half of the soup and leave the other half to have some chunks of potato, onion and leek. Irish Leek soup

 

The Kenyan dish is quick and super easy to make – perfect if you’re craving something a little more exotic with pretty common ingredients.

The lunchtime sandwich is born. Use a fine Extra Virgin Olive Oil for grilling to achieve a warm toasted crust, without the burn. Additionally, whole wheat is recommended most for it’s ability to ground the ingredients, and digests slower for a more filling meal with much less calories than those pesky fast food burgers.

    My Mom is complaining lately that she doesn’t make herself dinners like she used to–hey she is 92 and yeah she still cooks. She has always tended to make nutritious low fat meals cause that is what she has always preferred eating.

    I agree with most of it, but if I recall correctly, a good cut of pork has less fat than even chicken!
