This is a Fashionista Event. I was given a promotional item to review by 9thandElm.com to share my opinions about the website. All opinions are my own.
Do you love one of a kind original things, but tired of searching for them all over the place? My to do list for every given day is endless (and I am sure you are in the same boat), so every time I start searching for something online, I lose hour after hour after hour. I need a better way of finding awesome things. I was recently approached by an online store 9thandElm.com that specializes in finding independent designers and making their unique pieces available to the public . 9thandElm.com was founded by Clay and Elly Bethune in the spring of 2013 with a mission to bring its members fabulous fashion from the best handmade and independent designers. Founders of the site understand that it is extremely difficult to sort through and discover handmade fashion geared towards the “fashionista”, and that is why their buyers hand-pick exclusive deals and deliver them to the users’ inboxes
Is It Really Handmade?
Often the day you place an order is the day your order will start coming to life. It will not be delivered as a lot # 12398 to the store near you. Very often, the designer will create this piece for you and you only.
What did I get?
One of the pieces I ordered from this site is a RED DRAPE & FLARE RACERBACK. 100% Organic cotton and handmade in Uganda by Fair Trade, this piece uses bold red yet it is a very soft cotton. Soft to touch it is not wrinkle free, but a gentle cycle of the dryer makes it look red carpet ready. This product is sold by 4 All Humanity is an online private label that offers finely curated and designed assortment of women’s apparel from artisans around the world. These accessories have been made out of Tagua, a raw material, a seed that comes from a palm trees and grows in South America’s rainforests and you will be happy to know that these products are sustainable organic jewelry ethically handmade in Columbia. Big, bold, and stylish – these beads of the Tagua bracelet are cool to touch and none of them look like the other. In fact, not a single one is perfectly round – each sphere is shaped just slightly different and has a slight shade variation. Together this dozen of seeds creates a beautiful playful bracelet and the unique look so many of us are looking for. Ethically made in Columbia. TOPI Acai earrings are made from the same Tangua material and are just a bit smaller than I expected from looking at the site. This piece features simple, elegant and naturally beautiful Acai seeds turned into cute colorful posts with surgical steel findings. Earrings are fair trade and ethically made in Columbia using eco-friendly dyes. Everything I ordered was delivered in under two weeks. Each piece came separate from the designer listed on the website under the product description. 9thandElm.com doesn’t handle the shipping and handling. However, if I was to have a problem with a quality or delayed shipping, I would deal with the 9thandElm.com.
