The fall is finally here! I am trying to convince myself that it’s a good thing, but it is sad to see summer go. Here on Midwest labor day is really is the end of summer – the pools and summers parks are closed now, and that means summer is over. However, hopefully the temperatures will come down a bit , so we can have a great riding season. Unlike last year we didn’t do much riding this summer – personal family things, humidity along with high temperatures – all that made us search for other ways to spend time together as a family. So if you are like us and waited for cooler weather to take your bikes for a ride, the time is now.

Last weekend we went bicycle riding all together and I even managed to get my sister come along (actually my husband should get a credit for this one). This was a big deal for her – the last bike she rode we left in Russia when we moved and that only happened 14 years ago (WOW). Perfect time for a Huffy ride? I think so!

First thing Sunday morning I made my sister write something for me. Don’t worry, it wasn’t a liability waiver – I really wanted to know her thoughts about this experience before she gets on a bike. Does it resemble anything you feel if you haven’t been on a bike in a while?

Olga: It has been at least 14 years since I have been on a bike. First it was being in a new country and not bringing the old bike, then there was no huge desire to own a bike. Between running around in heels and a suit all day and attempting to recuperate by doing absolutely nothing at night, the idea of ridding a bike just hasn’t come up. Agreeing to get back on has me full of fear. I have no balance, and I’m still half awake. I am very curious as to how many bruises I will be coming home with, as well as how easy it will actually be to get back on the bike. Based on the cliché sayings, it should be no problem. Today will tell. *fingers crossed*

My little sis did amazingly well, but she wasn’t quite happy – you know, the uncomfortable seat, pedaling for miles, etc… At some point of time she even managed to get ahead of my husband and myself (to our defence – we both were hauling trailers with kids). Check out this first ride experience.

Olga’s after riding thoughts made me laugh. Do you feel a little bit less intimidated by a bike? I hope so. Huffy has a great line of bikes that would make anyone happy. They are anything but scary.

It has been YEARS (many many years…) since i have been on a bike. But I know I will be riding again soon, as DS gets older and we can go on family bike trips again. Looks like a great bike.

Glad to see after 14 years you’re getting back on a bike. I love huffy bikes, they are one of my favorite brands of bikes.

I haven’t been on a bike since I was a kid! I’d love to give it a shot though again, maybe after pregnancy I’ll get a bike!

Looks like lots of fun. I haven’t been on a bike since I was a teenager. I love Huffy bikes, they are really made to last.

Next summer I really want to get a bike for my boyfriend and I and a trailer to haul the baby. It has been quite a long time but I loved riding bikes!

Believe it or not I have NEVER ridden a bike. Never was ‘taught’ how, so I’m a little unsure of bikes myself!

OMGosh – I’ll bet it’s been 38 years since I’ve been on a bike. I think I’d probably kill myself at this stage of my life. It does look like you all had fun!

Haha you sis is so cute! It looks like, as the sayings say, you don’t ever forget to ride a bike! Good to know… it’s been awhile for me as well (though not 14 years) LOL 😉 Sounds like you guys had fun.. hopefully the fall weather says perfect for riding and your sister gets more experience in the seat!
