When packing for our annual vacation, I knew there would be some restrictions on how much I can do being 33 weeks pregnant, but I didn’t think all that much about it, since my husband calls it a lazy vacation, I can just be lazy, right?
If you buy a Wild Pass, you have the doors open to a number of attractions – just show the card and get the things going, right? Apparently not when you are in the third trimester. Don’t take me wrong, I had plenty of fun taking pictures and cheering, but for the first time ever I stayed on the sideline for almost the entire time.
Here all the exciting things at the Wilderness Resort Wisconsin I couldn’t do, but you will enjoy (unless, of course, you are 33 weeks pregnant).
Walking
I knew I was out of shape, but as I found out it was worse than that. I know plenty of senior citizens that can walk faster than this mama and since I travel with the family, that left a lot of time for “Hey, wait for me!” calls.
The rope course
I was happy to use my pregnancy as an excuse and not go there, because this simple at first look course gave me jitters once I followed my kids with the camera. They seemed to be good at it and that is why I call them monkeys. Located right above one of the arcades, it doesn’t seem like a big deal, but a creative use of the space. However, once I had my family up high and moving from place to place, I was terrified.
Laser Maze and Lazer Arena
Wilderness resort now has a Lazer Maze and Lazer Arena. I think Lazer Maze is highly addictive if you have ever imagined yourself to be an international spy. And it was equally entertaining for the adults and the kids. One person goes into the maze after picking the difficulty level and tries to to hit the required sensors while avoiding the lasers. Total success! Not sure if I could do this one, but I was happy to cheer outside of the room. I am a super mom, but my kids might not of thought that if I went through through this course.
The laser Arena might of being a little bit too much for the kids. While the father of the family was very skillful in hiding, sneaking from around the corner, shooting and disappearing in the dark, my son preferred to follow his aunt continued shooting her in the back. It was still plenty of fun, since they got to run around and shoot things. Let me just tell you: I am a lover – not a fighter, but my trigger happy kids had a blast shooting their aunt.
The Race Course
There is a whole mini race course build for those who want to push the pedal to the metal. While no bumping allowed, there are ways you can pass the competition on one of the turns. The little kids have to take the second seat as they are not allowed to drive. However, that means you can save the money or take the same course twice since you don’t have to pay for the non-drivers. This would of been fun, but I Stayed behind just in case.
The activities I could do
Arcades
You just cannot get away from the arcades. You might just feel that you are visiting the kiddy Las Vegas. Many new machine and everything is flashing, sparkling, spinning. And even in my 33 weeks, heartburn, and gassiness, I am quite good at spending money, pushing buttons, and collecting tickets
Klondike Pizza Kitchen
Not really an attraction, but might as well be, since it has a yogurt station and the pizza is unexpectedly shockingly good. And I mean good. You can actually order, the delivery to any place in the Wilderness teritoty – the hotel room or the poolside. And you better believe it, I took a full advantage of this place.
Being Lazy
Lucky me, I had my sister helping out on this vacation and that gave me plenty of time to just sit and relax. Loved it!
As you can see pregnancy shouldn’t keep you away from doing fun stuff, even if you only do a few things – you might for a change get some time to just relax and I am always ready for that.

Someone always has to hold the camera on those vacations anyway, it looks like you captured some great moments. As for the arcade, I spend most of my time there, and I’m not pregnant. I think I’d want to tackle that obstacle course though!

Sounds like my kind of vacation even if I am not 33 weeks pregnant. Seems like everyone enjoyed the fun.

What a fun place! You deserve to rest while the fam has fun. Pregnancy at least for me was SO uncomfortable. But that arcade would still be a blast, even pregnant. 😉

What a fun place to be! I know what you mean about doing these family vacations pregnant, it certainly changes things. We are headed out on one in March and I will be 20+ weeks pregnant and while not as far as you I know it will change things some.

LOL, that must’ve been tough! I love your pregnant dress though!

At that stage of pregnancy I’m pretty sure we didn’t engage in any activities quite that strenuous. I think the most we did was sit on a beach!

I think you are either brave or nuts for going at all. LOL. But this looks like so very much fun for everyone!! I would LOVE the lazy river best. My kids would have loved the ropes course best I think. This is one I have never been to so maybe it’s a possibility. Thanks!!

It looks like a fun vacation. But I could not imagine trying to do it being 33 weeks pregnant. I was a whale and so uncomfortable.
