We received free admission to the Cedar Point Park

Do you know how to get a headstart on the Halloween? The best way I know is to grab your costume and head over to a Halloweekend getaway at the Cedar Point in Sandusky, OH. About five hours away from Chicago, this is a perfect fall weekend destination your family won’t forget.

How old do you have to be to enjoy Halloween? Seriously, it’s a trick question – everyone gets something different out of this holiday. While a toddler might be on top of the world discovering trick-or-treating, grownups enjoy a good old scare room or volunteering at a kids’ costume event.

This is our fourth year of going to the Cedar Point during the Halloween weekends, and as always we came home with loads of emotions and a promise to go back again next year.

I have to note that the Cedar Point park is only open on the weekend this time of year – it begins on Friday evening and closes on Sunday at 6 pm. And it is open late on Friday and Saturday!

This amusement park has something for everyone in the family as it tailors a unique Halloween experience for every age group.

My toddler started a day on the sandy beach of the Lake Erie, and he had a blast, but he took it tot he next level in the Pigpen’s corn box, Woodstalk’s crazy corn maze, and  Linus’ Mummy Pit. Morning is a perfect time to be at younger kids going on the rides in Camp Spooky or trick-or-treating with Peanuts.

My older kids were tall enough to ride most of the rides in the park, and they did! It is so exciting to see them conquering new thrill rides and roller coasters as they become older and taller yet. However, they still make a point of riding every ride for the little kids.

My younger sister makes a point of always going to the Cedar Point with us, and she is a total adrenaline junkie, and she is proud of it! This year most of my family stayed in the park until midnight riding rollercoasters,

running away from the monsters in the scare zone, and exploring scare mazes.

I also have to point out the great Halloween themed shows Cedar Points puts together every year. We have our favorites we never miss like Spooky Shenanigans and Skeleton Crew. However, this year amazed us with many new and live shows, perfect for the spooky mood and full of energy!

Have you ever gone to the Cedar Point Halloweekend?

It looks like you all had a great time. I have a friend with grandkids that lives near Chicago. I’ll have to tell her about this place.

The roller coaster in the amusement park looks huge. I’m sure the ride would be thrilling. The scene also looks very engaging. Halloween must be a real hit in this venue especially for kids.

I would love this! My whole family would! We have never been to Cedar Point as we live too far away but if given the chance, I’m totally down for it!

This looks like so much fun. While I’m not a fan of the creepy side of Halloween, I do enjoy seeing all the fun costumes and going to all the fall events. My kiddo would enjoy this one, for sure!

How fun! I love amusement parks, especially when they offer themed holiday experiences. It makes it more exciting to go back frequently throughout the year when you know there will be different elements offered.

I love fun Halloween stuff – no spooky stuff for me. There’s so many places doing events now which make it a fun, family event. I don’t do rides, but always love the decor – and food.
