Halloween Costumes DIY: Happy Turtles

I have seen so many turtles costumes – from cute brown turtles to super tough ninja turtles, and all of them had something in common – they were expensive! If you prefer to spend little to no money on Halloween Costumes, DIY is the way to go and today we are making an incredibly easy Turtle Costume

As you might have noticed, we used an Oval Turkey Roaster with handles. It is super shiny, and te ridges sure make it look like a  turtle’s shell. Search the web for the “turtle shell pattern” and pick the one that will make the best fit.

If you go with the Ninja Turtle theme, print a wide orange rectangular and paste it across the shell. Spray paint or tape the pattern on the top of the shell. As an alternative, you can spray paint the entire shell.

Why did I insist on using an oval roaster with handles? With a help of a bungee cord make a backpack out of the aluminum shell. Feed the bungee cord through the hook on the top of the aluminum frame and attach the ends of it to the handles on the sides.

Note: I used Handy-Foil Giant Oval Rack Roaster with Handles and knew for sure that it has great handles on the sides and a hook on the top and bottom

Get creative dressing up for your turtle shell – create the look and be the most stylish turtle on the block. My kids wanted to go with the fancy hats, and I think they pulled off the look just right!
