4/9 Week of Creating a Healthier Version of Yourself in 300 words or less
5 points to embed into your brain today to keep you going through temptations and help you become a healthier person
In my book baby steps work like many formal dances: two steps forward – one step back. Eat well for a week – eat bad for a day. My baby steps tell me that one day, one evening, one ice cream won’t matter. My baby steps don’t show me the big picture. Baby Steps are for the babies – I CAN walk well enough on your own.
- Every step you make changes the pictures you are drawing. The cupcake you are now, WILL end up in your butt. Just picture it before you take a bite! I just did.
- Whatever your big picture is – keep your eyes on it! That is where you need to get. Have you tried riding a motorcycle looking right in front of your wheel? Don’t – unless, of course, your goal is to end up in a ditch.
- No, you can’t just transform from a couch vegetable into a vigorous workout addict overnight, but in your mind – You Should!
- The biggest battle you have to hold is with yourself. Your brain wants you to be comfortable – back on the couch and eating chips. Don’t blame it, it just wants you to be happy, but it will fill your heart with pride once you finish your workout.
- Stop listening to others – they won’t pay your medical bills. Don’t use them as an excuse why you can’t get healthy. Skip an outing, movie, if that will keep you eating less crap and spending an extra 30 minutes walking.

These are great tips! My favorite is the cupcake tip. Visualization is a great weight loss method if practiced properly.

I love the one that says stop listening to others. You really need to find out how to improve yourself to meet your needs not the needs of others.

I agree with Ashley. I need to stop listening to others. In their eyes, especially my father’s I am either too thin or too chubby. I am never just right. I need to be “just right” with myself, but always keep improving in a well-rounded way in all areas of my life.

I love the tip about transforming my mind into a workout machine NOW even though my body won’t make the transformation overnight. Mind over matter… I can do this!

So true, I’m trying hard to just be healthy with my eating. I really need to start exercising more regularly. Even just walking again.
