Growing up I remember looking forward to the holiday season – didn’t we all? However, these days I feel a lot different about everything that surrounds holidays. It’s like being on the flip side of the magical curtain – you get to make stuff happen and that isn’t an easy job! While I plan parties and sketch gift ideas, life doesn’t stop. And neither do the messes our favorite family members make.

The most common messes in my house come from spilled drinks and food. How can one not stress seeing that? I came up with a few ideas over the years.

How to Keep Your House Clean Over the Holiday and Stay Sane

Yes, the messes still attention and that is why we came up with a shortlist of “cleaning ups” for your holiday season.

Rub Up

Have your kids wipe up stains as soon as you see them. You might have to explain it to them that the earlier you clean up a spill or mess, the easier the stain will come out. You might have to say it several times.

Gear Up

Have the right tools. In my house, we always have a vacuum cleaner handy to clean up big and little messes.

If you are on the market for a new cleaning friend, consider BISSELL CrossWave Cordless Max – now at Best Buy! It Vacuums & washes your floors at the SAME time! And it works amazing for multi-surface cleaning – tile, sealed wood floors, laminate, linoleum, rubber floor mats, pressed wood floors, and more. It even works great job on the edges.

BISSELL’s self-cleaning cycle helps to maintain the machine’s cleaning performance by cleaning the brush roll and inside of the CrossWave, so there’s less clean-up after cleaning. It also keeps clean water and formula separate from dirty water and dry debris so you never have to clean the floor with dirty water.

Its other smart features include Wi-Fi-connected capabilities and the BISSELL Connect app provides helpful alerts, maintenance tracking, and usage tips.

And just so you know – BISSELL donates $10 to BISSELL Pet Foundation® for each CrossWave® Cordless Max purchase upon activation. Just visit BISSELL.com/pets to register your device & BISSELL will make the donation

Sponge it Up

Keep a clean, wet sponge near. A sponge is way more absorbent than paper towels and it will help you absorb the mess faster.

Wipe Up

Baby wipes are best even if you no longer have babies. These wipes are pet safe and they are always ready to go – no water needed. Keep a pack on hand and act quick!

Enjoy your holidays and once again – don’t stress yourself with little things too much!

Great tips! I think we need to involved our kids in cleaning stuff. That’s how they will learn cleaning and learn organizing too. you do make it look easy.
