Expecting mom? New mom? Know one?

If you have ever been pregnant, you might know first hand, that people around you have a lot to say and they can’t help, but share with you. I am probably the same way, because in one of my recent bazaar pregnancy dreams I was giving a labor advice to an actor who by the plot of the show was expecting her first baby. I am expecting my number three, I know what to expect. I know it all. Maybe.
What do people say?
You are half way there!
What, are you crazy? If you have ever been pregnant, you might know that the first and the last months are not equal. I wasn’t even pregnant for the half of the first month and didn’t even know I was pregnant for the second half. The last month worth of 3 months – the most miserable part of the pregnancy, when I know I won’t be able to sleep well (or at all),
WOW – You don’t show it at all. Are you sure you are pregnant?
It happens to us, fat girls – we don’t show as well as our skinny fiends do. A friend of mine at 20 weeks looked as pregnant as I would probably be at the end of my pregnancy. Consider it a gift, if you need to hide your bulging belly with a jacket and bulky necklaces.
Aren’t You brave to have a third one at your age?
Me? Well, I was in denial for 4 weeks, freaked out for another 3, but these emotions can only take so far. Now I am in the preparation stage. Do you have anything left from your baby that you want to give me?
As a “know-it-all-pregnant-lady”, I have my short list of things to do this week – the important stuff besides my doctor appointments and prenatal vitamins.
What do I need to do?
I need to finally stop calling my baby “she”, because it just isn’t correct. The little dude demonstrated his gender characteristics from every angle possible at my last ultrasound. The name “curve ball” and “oops” are just not suitable for my growing bun. Let’s look for more proper names like: Mr. Wiggle, “Lil Boo” or whatever other crazy names people come up with.

I am so glad that you are moving towards Mr. Wiggle and Boo. Excellent choices and no one ever wants to be thought of as an oops! Love you Lena.

Awww…Oops would not be a good name for your growing belly! After six years of infertility, I was finally blessed with two in vitro babies (now teensagers). I can’t help but feel every pregnant woman (including YOU) are a beautiful miracle. I know it’s corny, but I even get misty when watching a mama doe with her fawn. There’s truly no love like a mother’s love! Hang in there mama! 🙂

You are so lucky to be pregnant, hubby and I have been trying! Congrats on your blessing! Lil boo is an adorable nickname for the little guy too!

You look amazing and glowing! I love the baby nick name too! So cute.

My last brother was an oops and he is my favorite. Don’t tell my other brothers that though. He is the sweetest, kindest, gentlest man and a wonderful father to his two children.
I like mr. wiggle.

Congratulations! I think you look fantastic!

One of my BFFs has 4 kids. I noticed that with her 3rd she seemed to completely mellow out. Things don’t seem to rock her world the way they used to. Her 4th was a surprise and she’s the absolute sweetest, best baby!! Good luck 🙂
Jenna Wood says
Well, my Momma, to this day, calls me a ‘contractual obligation in her marriage’ (hows that for a title, and I’m grown up!) But I still felt her love growing up. ‘Wiggle’ is much cuter though!

Congratulations!!!!! I love the little boo nickname!!

I have a friend who still calls her son “momma’s little oopsy” even though he’s 16. That can’t be good for the kid’s ego.
MomStart says
First off, congratulations! Second, it’s so true how everyone wants to chime in with comments, unsolicited advice, weird questions, etc. I think most people mean well but it can be very grating.
Crystal says
Ohh people always have something to say don’t they. I got a lot of “Are you going to keep trying?” after my last one’s gender was revealed. That comment got under my skin because it sounded (to me) like I should be disappointed.

I do not like the whole “oops” thing because it makes it sound like it is an error or something! congrats!
Marysa says
Congratulations! That is wonderful news!

Congrats on your pregnancy!
