If you love lasagna, but don’t have the time to do it properly, we have a super easy recipe. I am all about shortcuts! This also is a great recipe to have handy for just in case kind of occasions.
Are you ready to be a fabulous chef?
You are almost there!
I love to have a pack of pelmeni, ravioli, or pirogy in the freezer. That is my back up dinner, but today we will do something awesome with it. INGREDIENTS:
- Cooking Spray
- 3 cups of your favorite sauce (I use Marinara or Italian)
- 1/2 cup of water
- 1 package of frozen pelmeni (ravioli or pirogy)
- 1.5 cups of shredded mozzarella cheese
RECIPE: Preheat the oven to 375°F and spray a 3-quart shallow baking dish with the cooking spray (I use coconut spray). Stir the sauce and water in a large bowl and spread 1 cup sauce mixture in the baking dish. Add half the frozen pelmeni (ravioli or pirogy), 3/4 cup of mozzarella cheese, add another cup of sauce mixture. Add the remaining pelmeni and sauce mixture. Cover the baking dish with foil. Bake for 45-60 minutes or until the mixture is hot and bubbling. Remove foil, add remaining cheese, and sprinkle with the remaining mozzarella cheese. Bake for another 10 minutes or until the cheese is melted and let it sit for 10 minutes.Pirogi, pelmeni and ravioli come with a variety of fillers. If you eat meat, you would have a choice of veal, chicken, beef and pork as well as mixed meats – beef and pork or similar. However, if you would prefer less meaty options, just pick the frozen variety with cheese, potato, cabbage, and mushrooms.

I had to google pelmani – funny how each culture has its own spin on the ravioli. Sounds like a delicious way to enjoy stuffed pasta.

Hi Lena! I love your name for this dish, it really caught my attention. Thank you for such a great idea. I love lasagne but admittedly I don’t make it as much as I should because it can be time consuming. Now, you have given me a brilliant short cut tip so it’s going to be on my meal plan more often. 🙂

I’ve seen similar recipes- I am the old fashioned boiling noodles, chilling noodles, takes 10+ hours to make lasagna kind of girl, so I would LOVE to try this out sometime. We love lasagna, but hate the hassle.
