Last year my family had a blast getting subscription boxes from the Little Passports. The around the World edition is designed for younger kids and is awesome for first look at the variety of countries. It is not just about finding the country on the map, it is also about knowing about the history, traditions, and fun facts about this country. And Sophia and Samantha, fictional characters of the Little Passports subscription do a great job traveling from a country to a country on their magical scooter.
However, this year we decided that we are ready for the Little Passports US Edition, which is designed for the kids 6 and up – 50 states, here we come!
Introductory World Subscription comes with a suitcase that you can use to store all the souvenirs and other attributes that comes with the subscription every month. The US edition comes with a plastic folder that should be strong enough to do the same.
What’s in the first month pack?
Like in the World edition, the first pack is bigger and has items you can use for the following months. Little Passports US edition folder comes with a United States map, a USA Field Guide, and a photo camera. The guide is asking for a lot of information that will take my kids a while to figure out. I see kids spending loads of time with this exploration and after we are done, we will have a comprehensive collections of the states and many facts about it.
There is also a Scratch Book that is full of things United States is known for. We have done few scratch cards and the whole book full of them – it’s like a dream come true for the kids and me.
Each month The Little Passports subscription will include stickers to collect in your Field Guide and map markers along with travel journals
If you are considering Little Passport subscription for a child, but can’t quite figure out which edition is the best fit, I’d say this: If your daughter/son is less than comfortable with reading, go with the world edition. It is very visual and has a lot of cute things. The US editionis is more hands on and if you are looking to fill some free time with your child, this subscription would be an excellent choice. It is also compact and could be great to take along to a friend’s house or the road trip.
