I used to love getting mail. These days since most of the mail consists of bills, I am not as excited. However, there is someone else in my house who can’t wait to get another piece of mail – MY DAUGHTER. As soon as I park the car on the driveway, I hear: Mom, can I go check the mail? I know she wants to get a piece of mail with her name on it. It doesn’t happen often. That is why I thought it would be a great idea for her to have her own subscription. My 6-year old gets two subscriptions – on is for National Geographics little kids and the other one – the Little Passports Fun.
Every package from the Little Passports has a new story and plenty of activities. The subscription we have is about different countries and it is extremely educational. You get a map, letters from the characters, souvenirs, stamps for your passports, and more. A few days ago my daughter took her Little Passport suitcase to school for a special presentation to share what she has learned about other countries with her classmates.
Last month we got a French package and a story of Sam and Samantha, friends who travel all over the world on the magic scooter. This trip started in the Alps and transitioned from there onto the streets of Paris teaching us a thing or two about French traditions.
And the month’s souvenir is a camera with pictures of Paris landmarks.
As every month both of my kids loved finding the country on the map and marking it with a special pin, affixing a stamp to the passport, and adding another boarding pass and travel sticker to the suitcase.
Another month – another country and now my daughter knows exactly where France is on the map, what’s the capital of this country is, and what is hiding inside of the King’s cake baked for the King’s Day.
Not bad for another afternoon at our house.

OMG! I love this concept! When I was little I started collecting postcards from all over the world, even got involved in a chain letter postcard exchange. It was so awesome! I loved getting the mail and a note from another place. This sounds like such a fun learning tool. – Katy
