Traveling with kids is a lot of fun in theory if you plan it accordingly, but in reality the Murphy Law is the king and most things do go wrong. Packing every year is like a guessing game – what else should I bring to prevent a potential meltdown or an emergency store run. This time my packing list included something new – a Carbon Audio Pocket Speaker!
Would you really think a speaker can make a difference in how your day goes? This one did! Besides the size (it actually fits in a pocket) this pocket speaker can get very loud if you want it to be and produces a great quality sound with two bass radiators on either side. And get this – it connects to a phone, tablet or computer through the Bluetooth, which makes entertaining easy without unnecessary wires.
The holiday season is the time of the year when we spend plenty of time with friends and relatives and obviously we bring kids with, but are they always interested in our table conversations? They would rather do something fun, but guess what – the adults watch something boring on TV.
However, with this very portable speaker and an iPad (or an iPhone) any time can be a story or entertainment time for the kiddos or even a dance party with their favorite music all ready to go. It is extra small and extra loud!
Regardless of how comfortable the hotel room might look it is just not home – the cartoons are wrong, the food doesn’t taste the same and the music is just not up to the kids’ standards. Lucky for me the music is something I have control over.
Our favorites are stored on the laptop and the phone and a 360 sound portable speaker I just picked up at the Apple store (it is sold there exclusively) makes playing a breeze. I still can work on my laptop while the kids are asleep in the next room with comforting music from the wireless connected speaker. You also can pair two of them together and have two speakers in two different locations.
Sick on Vacation
Sick kids on vacation is just sad – both you and your kiddos have looked forward to this vacation most of the year, and when you finally get there almost right away you face the fact and a difficult choice: should I stay in the hotel room with the sick kid or should you try taking him places for just a little bit?
This was me a few days ago when we got to the resort and my 4-year old started acting like a 2-year old looking at me with puppy eyes and refusing to get off my lap. Cold compress, fluffy pillows, and an extra blanket – this is my first vacation day. “Mommy, where is my music?”, I hear from under the blanket. Portable speaker comes to the rescue – there is nothing more healing than well known tales and lullabies.
I have to admit, I am very happy I stopped at the Apple store – this speaker has made a huge difference in the way my kids listen to music. I might just consider it a great gift to self this holiday season.
