We were provided complimentary stay at the Quad Cities Stoney Creek Hotel
in exchange for our honest opinion
We arrived in the Quad Cities late on Friday. Both my husband and I work and have a limited number of vacation days. For this reason, we usually prefer destinations close to home with a variety of entertainment options. Located just a couple of hours away the Quad Cities seemed perfect for a weekend getaway.

We often travel as a family of five plus another relative to help out with the kids while I work. That makes booking a hotel room a bit difficult. Solution? A place that fits all of us! This suite has it all – a king bed, twin over full bunk beds, and full sofa sleeper. Besides the sleeping quarters, it has plenty of space if you need to maneuver the stroller or have a family game night. This suite is 640 sq ft.!
The public areas of the hotel are filled with the unique accents and details.
On our second morning in the hotel, my two-year old discovered an old-time rocking horse quietly sitting in the corner of the reception area and was very happy to catch a ride on this rustic toy.
The breakfast area of the hotel is very spacious as well! The weekend of our stay Stoney Creek Hotel was hosting a wedding with many guests staying on site. While the dining area seemed full most of the time, we still had no problem finding space either inside or on the patio. The breakfast buffet has an impressive variety of food options to satisfy dietary needs or a picky 2-year olds.
Moline, IL has a lot offer. Located just on the Mississippi river you can take Channel Cat (local water taxi) or enjoy an old-day Celebration Cruise.

Your post reminded me of how grateful I am to be a freelancer married to a university professor and for the freedom that comes with our work schedules. We’re fortunate to be an American and a Brit living in Denmark with tons of opportunities to travel. That said, I’m about to visit my sister in CT for the first time in 6 years and we’re taking a weekend getaway to MA. I may have Europe at my doorstep, but I miss those American getaways 🙂
OMG! I feel like these getaways are bringing life to the boredom of everyday chores and responsibilities
This hotel is awesome looking.. I love the rustic look and feel of this hotel and it definitely looks different than most hotels. Looks like your little boy was having fun! I live in the Boothheel of Missouri and wonder how far Quad Cities Stoney Creek Hotel is from me? This may be a place I would love to visit
It might be a bit of a drive, but it totally worth it along with other attractions this area has to offer
OH!! This hotel looks fun! One of my favorite things is exploring hotels 😉 I always try and find the most unique one in the city I go to … And then take a few hours to wander around when I am there! haha!
I have never heard of the Quad Cities Stoney Creek Hotel! Your children are so adorable! It looks like you had a very eventful and relaxed experience! I love the uniqueness of this location, thanks for sharing!
My kids would love this place. Looks like a great place to visit for sure! I have never heard of it but I think we will be adding it to our travel list for sure. I love finding great places like this!
We have not but you sure make us want to plan a trip down to MN to have a stay!
There’s a Stoney Creek near me, but I don’t think it’s the same one. Loving how rustic this hotel is with the log furniture and fixtures. Looks like a great place to stay, I need to go on a little vacation soon.
I’ve never heard of Quad City. I’ll add it to my list of places to visit. My girls will like that hotel, they love bunk beds. and a John Deere Pavillion? That sounds like fun.
We are a family of five, too! Places like this are hard to find, I agree. We are definitely adding this to our places to stay.
I love cabinet-like hotels. They make you feel like you’re in the country somewhere. I have no idea where Quad City is but I love finding small towns as well. I always feel like there’s history everywhere and something you could appreciate and find in small places that you can’t find elsewhere.
Sounds like you enjoyed yourself which is the best part!
We are a big family too and I get it… it’s hard to find a place that can fit everyone. What a super fun getaway you and your family had. Your boys are so sweet. My family would have such a great time at a place like Stoney Creek. I love how historical it nostalgic it looks.
How cool! Love the bunk bed!
It looks like such an original and beautifully designed hotel. I love the rustic feel of the lodging areas as well as the rooms themselves. It just gives you such an old school feel to the whole experience. I know that my daughter would love staying there as well.
