How Do I Stay Healthy? I Have a System!

I want to be a good mom, who is awesome at helping her children stay healthy! The one who is ready when her kids gets the sniffles has the sixth sense about the aches and pains, and knows when to get a comfy blanket and a movie to help the fever. However, the reality is – I am anything but perfect! Here, I said it, but if you have read any of my previous posts, you already know that! I also have a full time job, blogging business, and desire to sleep at least 5-6 hours a day.I love my kids, but how do I protect myself from their germs

I don’t think I would be able to stay home full time, but every so often I find myself going to work while the kids don’t feel well, even if the only thing I want to do is to stay home, cuddle with them on the couch watching Charlie and a Chocolate Factory.

However, this season I have to be extra careful trying to keep my family healthy. Being 28 weeks pregnant and having two kids in school, I know the virus is just waiting to get me.

My solution? I am moving to a warmer state away from my germy family!

What? That is not possible? I guess, the alternative solution to the problem is to stock up on the essentials and be ready for whatever happens next.

What is on my “Get Ready for Anything List”?

  • Thermometer
  • Children’s Advil
  • Advil Allergy & Congestion ReliefAdvil PM
  • Robitussin Cough and Chest Congestion DM
  • Emergen-C
  • Chapstick

At might seem like fun to run to the nearest store, once I realize that there is a trouble in my kingdom that requires immediate pharmaceutical attention, I’d rather have it all on hands, sitting on the shelf and waiting.

Whenever Ms. Sniffles decides to bring something extra from school, I am ready!

– Mommy, can I have a candy?
– Sure, sweetie, I have something better – in your favorite Berry flavor and you don’t even have to chew it!

She thinks I am the best and I am going to enjoy it while sipping my Emergen-C drink, because this is a perfect time for me to load on vitamin C.

When the first kid gets sick in my house I know it is just a matter of time before we all go down like dominoes! Love your plan for staying healthy this season. #client

I am so glad that I don’t get in contact with a lot of people this time of year. If you ask me there is not much worse than a cold or the flu. At least I know if it does happen I can find all I need at Walgreens

Ha @moving to a warmer state- hasn’t worked for me! We still need to stock up on all the essentials, and Vitamin C to stay away from the flu here in SoCal!

I am the mom that has to run out in the middle of the night for medicine because we weren’t prepared. I’m going to get my online coupons now!

Pfizer deal is a good one. It’s nice to be stocked up via Walgreen when the illness hits though. Nothing worse thane have to go out when you are sick.

I try to keep up with taking my supplements like vitamin D and probiotics. Love that all can be found at Walgreens. Thanks for sharing this great deal.

We just went through our medicine cabinet and cleaned it out of anything that was expired so now we need to stock up again. Sounds like the perfect time to do so!

I have been pretty lucky this cold & flu season and been able to stay healthy. My kids, however, haven’t been so lucky! It’s been rough so I’m grateful for any tips to stay healthy.

Sometimes we have to make the sacrifice of catching the sickness to make our kids better; I feel like it’s worth it 🙂

Every holiday it never failed, my daughter would get sick from being around people at the mall, stores or with family. Then I’d get it, too. But since taking a multivitamin and making sure cold germs get cleaned off surfaces I’ve prevented myself from catching colds for 2 years now.
