7/9 Week of Creating a Healthier Version of Yourself in 300 words or less
5 points to embed into your brain today to keep you going through temptations and help you become a healthier person. And today let’s talk about something very important
Learn to celebrate
A week ago I really wanted to celebrate my achievement. I went to the store – bought two gigantic cupcakes and ate them in the car. And do you know what I felt afterwards? Regret! The anticipation of satisfaction? Yeah, didn’t happen…
5 Ways of celebrating your victories
Plan how you will celebrate your success. New clothes? New gadget? New book? It can be anything you want (and can afford).
Food is not a reward. It is just not! Would you reward a recovering alcoholic with a bottle of wine? I didn’t think so
Take yourself out for something you enjoy. Theater? Movie? You deserved!
The week you don’t gain is a good week. You might of not lost, but you didn’t gain either.
It doesn’t matter how tempting it looks and the fact that a 2 cupcakes only cost $4. Sweets get stuck in your butt and send the wrong message. What is it? “GOTCHA!”
i really need to take the food is not a reward to heart… i sometimes reward myself w/ junk food after working out.. its not good!!
Oops I need to remind myself not to reward myself with treats hahahah!
You are right. Any week you don’t gain is still a victory! I always have a hard time with that.
You are so very right! A gain is a gain!
AMEN! Every time I used food as a reward, I never felt that sense of satisfaction afterwards. I’ve started to get pretty creative on how to reward myself for achievements reached without food.
A new book, clothes, makeup, or just an afternoon of quiet is so much more rewarding.
I hear ya, sister. It can be frustrating to NOT lose weight, but it’s important to not stress out and let it get you derailed. I’ve done that…and just thrown it all out the window because I was let down. Hang in there. A good attitude always wins out!
It is so frustrating to not lose weight, and I tend to get discouraged then and eat everything in sight.
I always forget to celebrate the weeks where I don’t gain, I usually am negative about it, but I think you’re right, it is a small victory!
Indulging in something I enjoy is a great reminder…..I often skip my own needs because I’m taking care of everyone else.
Maybe a picture on the dash of a cupcake butt would help? I would need a french fry butt or a potato chip butt!
Very timely post for me right now. I am going through similar issues feeling like I am not doing enough. I need to celebrate every small success. I am happy to walk with you too.
I’ll reward myself with a slice of thin cheesecake…haha, the oxymoron of that, after a good week. It’s good to enjoy your food to an extent…
