Trying to stay fit and healthy while working and being a mom may seem like an impossible task. You may think there are just not that many hours in a day for you to do everything. Unfortunately, our health and fitness are what we tend to let slide when our schedules become too busy. But staying healthy and fit is crucial – especially if you are a working mom.
Your children are counting on you to be around for a very long time, and the key to that is by making sure you are healthy and in shape. You want to be able to keep up with them too, right? Here are some Working Mom’s Tips to Staying Fit:
Schedule Time to Work Out
If that means putting it in your program or making a conscious effort to know that at this same time every day you will focus on getting some exercise, that is a great start. Because schedules are so busy, you may need to sit down and think about when you will able to fit exercising in. This may mean waking up early every morning to get a quick workout in before everyone is up or using your lunch hour to get some exercise time in. Remember that the sticking to your scheduled workout time will leave you feeling much better and with more energy every day in the long run.
Bring the Gym to You
Taking the time to drive all the way to the gym is just not doable in a busy working mom’s schedule. Good thing there are awesome alternatives for you that you can do right at home. This can be worked out videos, buying a treadmill or joining an online group where you can do circuit training. Most circuit training doesn’t require much equipment. Set up an area in your home where you can work out. Having your private place to work out in your home will be so convenient that you have no excuses to work out now.
Involve your family. You may feel that you are so busy that cutting into time that you can spend with your family is just not worth working out. Well, involve them right in – get the mix-up and the exercise going! This can mean going to the park together to run around or even biking together. Not only is this a great and fun way to get some exercise in, but you are also getting to spend some quality time with one another, something that they will always remember for the rest of their lives.
